The Terrorists

This summer Jon Erik plays the role of Otto, in the important and highly relevant performance of THE TERRORISTS by Kolbein Falkeid. He is also the initiator and is producing the show with actor colleague André Lassemo. Together they are the core of the independent theatere company Kanon Produksjon.

A group of terrorists occupy a kindergarden. In an apartment elsewhere in the city, the three leaders of the terror group sit and direct the action. When the action leads to a personal conflict for one of them, the dynamics among those involved change. The play opens for discussion about what makes them terrorists, and what brings knowledgeable political activists to the conclusion that only through violence can good victories prevail.

Kolbein Falkeid’s THE TERRORISTS bring up the 1970’s terrorism in Germany. With Baader-Meinhof as the backdrop, it is a play of its time, but also a universal exploration of what drives people to the extreme. It is a play that explores the cultural differences that existed at the time the play is set, but which has clear parallels to the times we live in. The show is produced by the independent theatre company Kanon Produksjon, in collaboration with the Vest-Agder Museum, and premieres at the Kristiansand Kanonmuseum in the old casemate in the summer of 2019.
