The Headless Soprano

In early July, the video recordings for THE PORTAL – The Headless Soprano were carried out in a green screen studio in Sandefjord. The Headless Soprano is part of the mixed-media location-based AR experience THE PORTAL, produced by KapOow, where various ghostly characters will appear through tablets or mobile phones. The experience also includes gaming elements as the audience must find the head of The Headless Soprano and put it back in place. Additionally, the applause volume from the audience is crucial for whether the ghosts are set free and allowed to move to the other side, as the goal for users is to hunt for ghosts to bring them home to the other side.

The role of The Headless Soprano is portrayed by Cecilie Schilling, directed by Thomas Lunde. The script is written by Espen Aukan, Thomas Lunde, and Martin Ødegaarden. The scene that was filmed constitutes the finale of the entire experience, and Jon Erik, in addition to playing the role of the organist Gregers, has composed the aria sung by the soprano.

The result of this unique production can be experienced at Fossekleiva Cultural Center in October.
