Vorbereitet

We are in 2021. Through the sound system, we hear the voice of a 103-year-old woman. It is clear and wise, filled with vitality and humor. Oslo was to be bombed. Suddenly, time is rewound.

It is April 1940. The German Kriegsmarine is preparing its ships for something significant. Europe is on edge, wondering where this fleet will set its course. In Norway, however, there are inquiries about reducing the guard for the sake of agriculture. At a coastal fortress somewhere in Norway, we meet an undermanned B-team of Norwegian security.

In “VORBEREITET,” the spotlight is on the preparations made before the occupation of Norway on April 9, 1940. How well-prepared were we really? With a deep dive into Norway’s history, the performers will tell an important story presented through dance and physical theatre. The narrative depicts what happened in the time leading up to the occupation of Norway when preparations for the occupation were significantly deprioritized and the consequences this had.

The performance addresses both important and serious situations, presenting them in a delicate balance between seriousness and humor.

In this production, Jon Erik has contributed as a co-producer on behalf of Kanon Produksjon, alongside Britt Årnes from Kompani Årnes.
