Release the KRAKEN

In the autumn of 2024, Jon Erik was on set for the upcoming feature film KRAKEN. He plays the role of Georg and shares the screen with Sara Khorami, Mikkel Bratt Silset, Øyvind Brandtzæg, Ingvild Holthe Bygdnes, and Jenny Evensen. KRAKEN is directed by Pål Øie and co-directed by Sjur Aarthun, who also serves as the film’s cinematographer. The film is set to premiere in Norwegian cinemas on February 06, 2026.

As it is in Heaven

The Bergen adventure continues, this time at Den Nationale Scene with the musical As It Is in Heaven (Så som i himmelen), based on the Swedish film from 2004. The musical had its world premiere at Oscarsteatern in Stockholm in 2018 and has since been performed at Oslo Nye Teater, Nordland Teater, and Trøndelag Teater. Now, at last, the story comes to Bergen, and Jon Erik will take on the role of Holmfrid in this new production, directed by Lars Jacobsen.

Fiddler on the roof of Bergen

In May, Jon Erik heads west as Fyllingsdalen Teater presents its biggest production to date: "Fiddler on the Roof", performed under the open sky atop Bergen’s iconic Fløyen. Jon Erik will play the role of Mordche, the innkeeper of Anatevka, sharing the stage with Kristoffer Sagmo Aalberg (Tevye), Herborg Kråkevik (Golde), and a large ensemble of around 50 local performers.

Warsailors on tour

In July and August, D/S Hestmanden – Norwegian War Sailors Museum will be on a voyage, and THE LUCKY SHIP will be part of the journey. The ship will visit Langesund, Horten, and Moss, before staying in Oslo for almost two weeks. On the return in August, stops include Risør, Sandefjord, and finally Mandal. The performance will be staged in all ports.

The Lucky Ship – a war sailor story

In September, Kanon Produksjon returns to Kristiansand, this time with a world premiere. The Lucky Ship explores a year aboard the cargo ship D/S Hestmanden, just as World War II hits Norway. The production is a collaboration with the Norwegian War Sailors Museum at Vest-Agder Museum and is performed below deck on the Hestmanden.

The Ash Lad and the Quest for the Crown Jewels

Also in July, you can find Jon Erik in Hunderfossen Adventure Park. During the high season, the performance The Ash Lad and the Quest for the Crown Jewels is staged, where he plays both the King and the Big Troll.

Jon Erik will be in this performance from July 11 to 18 and from July 26 to August 2.

“Skit eller kanel” at the conference “Den mangfaldige nynorsken”

On Thursday, April 28, Kulturtanken hosted a network gathering and conference focusing on the role of the Nynorsk language in the Cultural Rucksack, specifically, and in art and cultural communication for children and youth more generally. Together with Richard Olsen, Jon Erik presented an excerpt from the production “Skit eller kanel” (Knowing chalk from cheese).
